Standing with Ukraine since day one 

With the full-scale invasion of Ukraine now in its fourth year, Project HOPE has been on the ground since the very beginning, evolving its initial emergency response into a comprehensive humanitarian intervention designed to create lasting change. 

Focusing on the most vulnerable populations in frontline regions, our team pairs lifesaving assistance with sustainable development to help communities build long-term resilience. 

A comprehensive humanitarian response 

To ensure access to health care for civilians, Project HOPE has strengthened Ukraine’s health system by equipping clinics with essential supplies, delivering lifesaving medicines, training health workers, supporting surge staffing, enhancing emergency transportation services, and deploying mobile medical units to communities on the front lines. 

Project HOPE’s humanitarian response spans across all aspects of health, addressing critical gaps in services by reconstructing and repairing medical and social facilities; providing mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) to internally displaced people (IDPs) and others affected by conflict; improving access to water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services; and distributing essential items to help communities endure blackouts and harsh winter conditions. 

We have maintained a strong local presence through five active offices in Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipro, Kharkiv, and Kherson, ensuring rapid response and coordination nationwide. 

Our impact at a glance (2022–2025) 

In the last 3.5 years, we have: 

• Supported over 2 million people across Ukraine with lifesaving health and humanitarian assistance. 

• Operated from five offices, ensuring rapid response and coordination nationwide. 

• Delivered 1.7 million medical consultations to 685,000 patients, including those in frontline and hard-to-reach areas. 

• Deployed 64 mobile medical units, providing free primary care, medicines, and psychological support. 

• Trained more than 13,000 health workers to strengthen Ukraine’s health system and improve quality of care. 

• Supplied hospitals and clinics with USD 15 million worth of donated medicines and medical equipment. 

• Reconstructed or renovated 19 health and social facilities across eight regions, restoring access for 145,000 people each year. 

• Delivered 9.5 million liters of drinking water and distributed 192,000 hygiene kits to families in need. 

• Installed 234 generators to keep hospitals and clinics running during power outages. 

• Supported 335,000 Ukrainians with free mental health and psychosocial care through community centers, hospitals, and mobile teams. 

• Delivered 7,600 tons of solid fuel, warm clothing, essential non-food items, and cash assistance to help families endure harsh winters.
